What is LOVE?
Ah, countless philosophers, sages and Sufis have attempted to decipher this for eons... But what d'ya know---a bunch of grade six pupils of Divine Word College of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro had contributed their own take on this subject matter.
Contributions which they wrote on a "slumbook" many years back and which I am now sharing with you here. (Please don't kill me...I copied it word-for-word...well, plus a few comments).
Arnel says:
"Love is surrounded by water,
which no one can enter
except your lover"
(Ang corny! Buti na lang nag-rhyme!)
Yen says:
"Love exist in our heart"
(Ahh, doon ba iyon?)
Joan says:
"The measure of love
is love without measure"
(Sobrang lalim--- 'di ko maarok!)
Rica says:
"Love is part of your life"
(Sige na nga!)
Amy D. says:
"Love is an imitating
of two person, two heart
enchange"
(Huh?)
Portia says:
"Love is a flower that grows
and blossom w/o the aid of season"
(Hmm, talagang pang-"slumbook", ha?)
Arlene C. says:
"Love is life.
They who do not love
are not alive"
(Ang taray!)
Toby says:
"Love is like an hamburger
that has everything on it"
(Ang takaw!)
Onyoy says:
"Love is the way to be married
and the hearts are tied together"
(Ang sakit!)
AND FINALLY...(drumroll, please!) the most profound entry comes from Trina G.:
"Love is a feeling
when you eat a banana"
